This is the Aladdin model-6 ball shade hanging lamp. The ball shade model-6 is one of the most unique hanging lamps ever offered by the Aladdin Mantle Lamp Company. The example pictured above happens to have an "original" glass shade making it a very rare lamp indeed, but even the reproduction shades for this lamp are extremely limited. Only about 30 of them were ever successfully manufactured and all are marked to identify them as a reproduction. The reproduction shades in themselves are highly collectible and almost as hard to find as the originals. The original glass shades for this lamp are extremely rare and extremely fragile which means they have a very high collector demand for one in like new condition. The frame, oil pot, burner, and shade on this lamp are all in like new condition. It was a very lucky find!
