The
Aladdin vase lamps consist of a hollow glass vase with a removable
oil pot. The glass is quite fragile and is easily chipped or cracked.
Removing and replacing the oil pot when filling or cleaning often
lead to the glass vase being chipped at it's upper edge. These Aladdin
lamps came in a wide variety of finishes and were most often sold
with decorative parchment shades. There were three different heights
in the vase lamps: 12 inch, 10 inch and 8 1/2 inches. The shorter
"Florentine" lamps were made in 1935 and are highly sought
by collectors. Although many vase lamps were sold in the 1930's
era, very few can be found that are in perfect condition.
